We loved Casa Delfin. The house itself is large, clean, comfortable, relaxing, and in a fabulous location.
We thought that the stairs into the lagoon were very slippery, but luckily no one fell. We did experience trouble with the air conditioners not cooling and the water heaters not providing any hot water in a few of the rooms. Our opinion was that the fixtures needed to be maintained or replaced. [Thank you Karen! Our apologies: high humidity and salt air create constant problems with electrical/mechanical equipment but we should have caught the problems before you arrived. We have repaired/replaced the equipment and will attend to the steps on a regular basis!] The staff was friendly and responsive. They did the best they could to help us. We would certainly revisit Casa Delfin, but most likely in January or February.

My brother and his wife decided to get married in beautiful Akumal!!!
We had a great time and Blue Tang A was wonderful. The roof-top pool was wonderful overlooking the lagoon and ocean. The seclusion of Akumal was definitely welcomed. We walked on the beach at Playa del Carmen and the multitude of people made us realize that Akumal's private beach and town had much more to offer if you really want to get away. Rene, the grounds keeper, did a great job for us the whole week we stayed as well as the cleaning staff. Blue Tang resides on the lagoon side of the town and offers private entrance to the lagoon as well. Because we were a wedding party, we took over Akumal and it was a great destination wedding for us. Everyone was ready to come back!!!

Really a perfect location.
I love to snorkel but sometimes I get anxious in the ocean and the surf. In the lagoon the water is still and clear with no wave or tidal action. I can really feel comfortable to stay in the water for over an hour sometimes many times a day. The house is spacious and aesthetically ideal. I love the roof top pool which is really private and has a great view. Akumal is a beautiful little village with some sweet bars and restaurants. Tulume is near by and is a fabulous ruin.

Everything you could want in a tropical getaway!
We arrived around 8 in the evening to find our host David waiting to help us unload our bags and groceries. Once we unpacked he escorted us up to Que Onda for the first of many fabulous meals at Akumal's very good and very reasonable restaurants. (Turtle Bay for tuna!) We also really enjoyed our special dinner prepared by Rene The next morning we could truly appreciate the little slice of heaven that would be our home for the next week. Yal Ku lagoon is that unbelievable colour of turquoise and teaming with tropical fish and turtles. We felt very fortunate to have it to ourselves for snorkeling in the mornings before the tours started to arrive. We rented a golf cart to get back and forth to Akumal for shopping and meals in the evenings - what fun! All in all we would highly recommend staying with David and Nancy at any of their lovely townhouses or villas - they were aways ready to provide anything we could possible need without being intrusive. We will definitely return and will stay for much longer...thank-you, David and Nancy, for sharing this paradise! Heather & Larry

We stayed at the Conjuncto Romero the last week in December for our wedding. We rented the Romero, French Angel B, Blue Tang A & B, and the Casita. It was beyond wonderful.
The home and condos were nicely appointed, clean, well cared for and lovely. The setting was magnificent! It was wonderful having access to the Yal-Ku Lagoon from our back yard! The lagoon can get very busy - and we found the best times to go were early morning or just before sunset. The best visibility is to the left toward the back. We had our wedding in the grass outside the French Angel by the Lagoon and the reception was held in the courtyard. It was magical! The compound is perfect for large groups to stay together but also have privacy. We loved the uniqueness of the Romero with all of the stone and spiral wooden staircase. The views are incredible, from the Master suite and the rooftop lookout you can see the Lagoon as well as the ocean. All of the rooftop pools had amazing views - each different and special. We had 8 staying in the Romero and it was large enough to accommodate all of us and we could very easily find space for alone time as well. The pool area is a great gathering place. It was so nice to have wireless internet and the free calls to home! What a nice treat! Although I never watched tv - the kids enjoyed having the nice flat screen and cable. The staff was wonderful. They did a fantastic job and took care of every request. They would quietly come and clean and you would barely know they were there! This was our 4th year in Akumal - we absolutely love it. It was our first time at the Romero and we will be back for sure!

Casa Delfin was perfect for hosting our family during the wedding. The big dining area held 35-40 people one evening. Our family and friends were impressed with the building and the location.
I appreciated the nice art pieces.

The wedding was beautiful!
The Villa was lovely! The rooms were very nice and the couple taking care of us were friendly, helpful and very accessible. The view was beautiful and my husband loved swimming in the lagoon. It was very convenient to town; yet, secluded enough to allow for relaxing. We had a wonderful time with our group at the villa!! Thank you. Adeline Novak

This was a return visit and our favorite place to stay in Akumal!
Perfect for our family and extended family with so many areas in the house for togetherness or some privacy when needed. The Yal Ku unfortunately has been discovered by tour groups but we found if we went out in the early morning it still felt like "our Lagoon". Afternoons were much too crowded for our tastes but still lovely to look at. Rene and Lucy are the best. They prepared a wonderful birthday dinner for my husband and couldn't have been more gracious. We love Casa Delf&iaute; and Akumal but much more crowded now than we remembered, bound to happen I suppose with such a beautiful spot. Look forward to our next visit.

Casa Delfin was the perfect villa for us. The rooms are spacious and well-seperated, each with their own washrooms with showers.
The child-gate for the stairs made the main level very easy to take care of young ones. The location on the laggon was perfect and the lagoon's snorkeling was well beyond our expectations, as was the snorkeling at near by Akumal Bay. The local resuraunts were pricey but very good, especially Lucy's Too at Akumal Peublo. I highly recomend Akumal as a vacation spot, but especially this Villa in particular beacuse: 1) Child Friendly (even high chair and playpen) 2) Lagoon direct access 3) Roof top pool 4) Excellent Caretakers 5) Friendly Owners 6) Good price 7) Can house a large group with plenty of personal space8) Good appliances in Kitchen (Ice maker in fridge!!!)

French Angel was all the website said it would be and more!
We were well taken care of by the staff and David's info before we went really came in handy. The town is lovely, the diving source David gave us was great and reasonable. Very good restaurants were within walking distance of the villa with several right on the beach. The snorkeling in the lagoon that is right outside the door is the best in the area. Be sure to look for the info binder in the villa. We didn't see it at first and it answered most of our questions. Also the guestbook has lots of great hints about activities and warns about the jelly fish! Really a fantastic find and we plan on returning with more family and friends!

We have been going each year, (and sometimes 2-3 times per year) to Mexico since our honeymoon in 1989.
The first few years we stayed in the hotel zone. Then we started staying in the mega-resorts (all inclusive). They were just too big, and too many people. The last few years we have been staying in Tulum, and Soloman Bay. Akumal, and Casa Romero has been our best trip yet! Just after a couple of days, we felt "at home" in the house. We spent a lot of time in the well equipped kitchen, and on the 3rd floor balcony relaxing and looking out into the lagoon and gulf. Of course the pool and the lagoon was great! We love to snorkle, and the water, the great visibility, and fish were the perfect way to start, and end the day. After a couple of days, my husband John, really got a little cabin fever, and the sat. tv and dvd saved the day. The last few years we have been vacationing with another couple from Texas, the Greens, and they loved Romero just as much as we did. We will be back!

We have made numerous trips to the area and this was our 2nd stay at Blue Tang and once again we had a wonderful time. We first went in May 2009 and stayed at Blue Tang B with family for a week. This trip we stayed in A unit and extended our time to 10 nights. The unit is fully equipped, as is the B unit, and once again we enjoyed the wonderful rooftop pool and superb lagoon snorkling. We had a magnificant full moon, great breeze and all the privacy you could dream of. October is a great time to go to avoid the crowds.
We saw 2 turtles, a school of 8 sofa-sized parrot fish and that of course helped make our trip memorable. The snorkling was much better in October due to the lack of large snorkle tours. In the early mornings before 10 and late afternoons after 4 we had the entire lagoon to ourselves and that was a nice treat. During the rest of the day there were fewer than 12 people so that was a very nice treat. This is the first time we have repeated a stay at the same location and we have been visiting the area annually since 1986. We won't be venturing away from Blue Tang and are already planning another trip in May or June again with family. Renee and staff ensured all our creature comforts during our stay and we found everything to be in excellent order. We can't speak highly enough of the care David and Nancy have taken to ensure a great vacation. All the details, everything from the artwork and furniture, to the stocked kitchen and the comfortable towels, beds and sheets were well thought out. It is literally like a home away from home and we can't thank them enough for sharing it with us. Looking forward to our next visit already!

What a wonderful place! Being right on the lagoon was so peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed having the flexibility of a kitchen but the food at the restaurants we tried was so good (tacos at the Luncheria, Pasta at Que Onda, and ice cream at Lucy's) that we didn't cook much.
The townhouse had everything you could need for a relaxing getaway.

This was an absolutely perfect unit for two couples. We had an incredible time, perfect weather, and an ideal location.
The staff at the Romero Complex were incredible, accomodated every request we had, and were extremely pleasant and friendly. Absolutely no complaints. The unit was charmingly decorated, nicely furnished, and stocked with amenities. The roof-top pool and Yal-Ku lagoon were just icing on the cake. Thanks for an ideal vacation. -John

The Casa Romero Villas are the best vacation villas I've stayed at in a long time and I have been on many vacations throughout my 50plus years.
The bedrooms were of high quality and the full kitchen was a pleasure to cook in. I particularly loved the jazzuci style pools on the roof of our villa. It was so relaxing to sit in the pool and enjoy the spectacular view of the lagoon. I would highly recommend the Casa Romero Villas to anyone traveling in Mexico. They were well worth the trip.

My husband, daughter, her friend and I spent a glorious week at Blue Tang and had an absolutely perfect and relaxing vacation.
The property was very clean, well maintained, and unlike other vacation homes we have rented in the area, has all the amenities listed in excellent working order. The photos do not really do the property justice as it is even more spacious and welcoming than the photos depict. Having the Yal Ku Lagoon literally footsteps from your door make this a real hidden gem. The snorkeling is simply fantastic and we were fortunate enough to swim with turtles and even spot a massive spotted eagle ray! The rooftop pool offers a great respite with a nice view and calming tropical breeze. The staff genuinely care that everything is as perfect as can be for the guests and do a really great job to ensure your comfort. We made use of the bicycles, grill and all the well stocked kitchen items to prepare our breakfast, lunches and a few dinners. The restaurants in the area are well priced, convenient and serve a variety of options and we found the service very good. If you are looking for a totally relaxing vacation away from the usual crowded resorts this is definitely the spot for you. We had total privacy in a beautiful location with all the comforts of home. Needless to say we are already planning a return trip in late fall and after being home less than a week, I have 5 couples lined up for a group trip in 2010! The only thing that could have improved our stay is if we booked for 2 weeks rather than 1. Thank you David and Nancy for sharing your home away from home with us!

The four of us really enjoyed our time here.
Being right on the lagoon was magical, particularly in the early mornings and after 5, when the light is long and the fish active and not hiding from the many mid-day snorklers. The adjacent homes were not occupied while we were there. We ended up using the very nice roof-top pool only rarely, as the lagoon was so very inviting and easy to visit. The lagoon is a fantastic amenity, combining the tranquility of a freshwater lake and the brilliant fish diversity of a coral reef! The layout of French Angel A is excellent, with a very good flow, light and views. The staff were almost invisible but yet kept things tidy and functioning. We developed a routine of alternating days visiting the various ruins and being on the southern beaches around Tulum, often ending up at Akumal beach for an hour around 5 when it was quiet before heading back to the apartment. Town of Tulum is a great center for lunches, fresh fish at the pescaderia, and points west (to Coba for example) or east to the biosphere reserve, the ruins and beaches. We began discussing our return visit before we left, and find that the immediate setting and location are really superb for a family or group of friends. The owners are very friendly and helpful in pointing us to various resources. Highly recommended!

Great location! Great snorkeling. We saw turtles, sting rays, and lots of fish. We rented both sides of the French Angel. The care taker Rene and all the staff were very friendly and responsive to our needs.
Our group had children ranging in age from 2 to 14 years, and they had a wonderful time watching fish, and swimming in the lagoon. Make sure you snorkel in the lagoon early before the crowds gather, and the water gets cloudy. Head to nearby Half Moon Bay for a change of scene and white beach sand.
